According to the leak, the Xperia 1 V will retain the 6.5-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, but it will reportedly use a newer E6 AMOLED panel. The phone is said to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in Europe and the US, while the Asia Pacific region might get a 16GB RAM and 512GB storage option.
The most significant upgrade is rumored to be the camera system. The Xperia 1 V is said to feature a massive 1/1.7-inch 12MP sensor for its main camera, a substantial improvement over the 1/1.7-inch 12MP sensor in the Xperia 1 IV. However, it's worth noting that no such sensor is currently known to exist in the market.
The ultra-wide and telephoto cameras are also expected to receive upgrades with larger sensors and improved zoom capabilities. Other rumored specs include USB 4.0, IP68 certification, and a 12MP selfie camera.
The leak suggests a February 28th announcement for the Xperia 1 V, with availability in Japan starting in mid-March. However, it's important to note that these are still unconfirmed rumors, and we'll have to wait for official confirmation from Sony.
