Realme GT 6T: India's First Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 Phone with 6,000-Nit Display
Realme has revealed that India's first Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 (or 7+ Gen 3) smartphone will also feature a 6,000-nit display. The GT 6T will ship with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, an ultra-large battery with extra-fast charging, and Android 14 out of the box, but it will cost around half the price of a Samsung flagship smartphone with the same specifications.
Realme has launched the GT 6T in India, featuring the latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor. The SoC is billed as the country's latest flagship chipset, although for the sub-flagship category, and has been determined to be competitive with 2023's leading 8 Gen 2 platform.
The 7+ Gen 3 is expected to attain AnTuTu scores of around 1.5 million, thanks in part to a new Iceberg cooling system including a vapor chamber of an apparently amazing 10,014mm2. It complements the GT 6T's "massive" 5,500mAh battery, which supports USB-C charging at up to 120W - a speedier version of SuperVOOC than that available in the higher-end OnePlus 12 or OPPO Find X7 Ultra from the same parent firm.
The GT 6T also boasts a Sony 50MP main rear camera set within a new Nano Mirror Design rear panel either in Razor Green or Fluid Silver, and boots Realme UI 5.0 with the OEM's latest software features, including a new Dynamic Island imitation known as theFlash Capsule.
The 7+ Gen 3 is expected to obtain AnTuTu scores of approximately 1.5 million. However, there is neither wireless charging or Wi-Fi 7, albeit the flattened 8T LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a new theoretical maximum brightness record may compensate.
The Realme GT 6T starts with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage set at a price (even before "Instant Bank" discounts and trade-in rebates) of INR 30,999 (~$372). However, it can be ordered as a 12GB/512GB top-end SKU for INR 39,999 (~$480, or perhaps even less) from May 29, 2024 on Amazon.in.
