Motorola Razr 50: Leaks Hint at New Chip, 8GB RAM & Android 14 Upgrade
Motorola's Razr lineup is gearing up for a refresh, and whispers of the successor to the Razr 40 (currently priced at $499.99 on Amazon) are getting louder. While Motorola remains tight-lipped about an official announcement, leaks are painting a picture of what to expect from the Razr 50.
Early Benchmarks Hint at New Chip
The Razr 50 has been spotted on Geekbench, following its appearance on China's TENAA certification platform. This leak aligns with the numerous official render images of the device, previously revealed by Evan Blass. TENAA also showcased hands-on photos (covered separately).
According to the Geekbench listing, the device is powered by an unnamed octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, which is likely an unreleased chipset from MediaTek. The Razr 50 is also reported to have 8GB of RAM and will run on Android 14 out of the box.
While the exact model of the chipset remains a mystery, these leaks suggest a significant upgrade over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 found in the Razr 40. This potential performance boost, combined with the latest Android version, could make the Razr 50 a compelling option in the foldable market.
