AYN Technologies Unveils the Odin2 Mini: A Powerful Handheld with Mini LED Display

AYN Technologies has packed a punch into the Odin2 Mini, a compact handheld weighing just 320g. Despite its smaller size compared to the original Odin2, the Odin2 Mini boasts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, and a 5000 mAh battery. It also features a 5-inch Mini LED display capable of reaching 1,100 nits of brightness. This impressive Android gaming portable is priced under $350.

Pre-orders for AYN Technologies' latest gaming handheld are now open on their e-commerce site. The Odin2 Mini is essentially a smaller version of the original Odin2 (now priced at $449.99 on Amazon). The Odin2 Mini measures 196 x 86 x 20 mm, compared to the Odin2's 225 x 98 x 17 mm dimensions.

The Odin2 Mini should be considerably smaller than its predecessor, as illustrated below. However, powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU and up to 12GB of RAM in its 'Pro' configuration, the Odin2 Mini promises to be just as capable as its larger counterpart.

The Odin2 Mini boasts a 5,000 mAh battery, which is 37.5% smaller than the Odin2's 8,000 mAh battery. This means the Odin2 Mini will have a slightly shorter runtime.

But the Odin2 Mini is much more than a shrunken version of the Odin2. It is one of the first gaming handhelds to feature a Mini LED display. AYN Technologies claims the Odin2 Mini can reach a peak brightness of 1,100 nits from 384 local dimming zones while covering 155% of the sRGB color spectrum.

Pre-orders are open now, but AYN Technologies won't ship the Odin2 Mini until at least 'late June'. The Odin2 Mini starts at $339, but you can save $10 by using the promo code Odin2Mini10, which is valid until June 21. All pre-orders come with a free screen protector and case.
