POCO F6 Pro: Xiaomi's Latest Flagship Killer with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 120W Charging
Xiaomi has announced a successor to last year's POCO F5 Pro, known as the POCO F6 Pro. The POCO F6 Pro, which will be released alongside the POCO F6, is available with early bird launch discounts of up to €100 for its top-tier 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage capacity.
Xiaomi has introduced a successor to the POCO F5 Pro (now $498 on Amazon), just over a year after launching the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1-powered handset globally. This time, Xiaomi has fitted the POCO F6 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a more powerful choice that outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 by approximately 22% in our tests. Additionally, the POCO F6 Pro has LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage, just like the POCO F6 that the company also announced today.
The POCO F6 Pro, as seen in the figure below, is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery that can be recharged at 120 W using Xiaomi's HyperCharge technology. Furthermore, the POCO F6 Pro features a 6.67-inch display with a resolution of 3,220 x 1,440 pixels, 120 Hz, and 4,000 nits peak brightness (1,200 nits HBM). Furthermore, the POCO F6 Pro includes the following camera hardware within its 160.86 x 74.95 x 8.21 mm and 209 g housing:
- A 50 MP primary lens with f/1.6 aperture, 2.0 μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel, and OIS.
- An 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture.
- A 2 MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture.
- A 16 MP front-facing lens.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi's 'all-new' LiquidCool Technology 4.0 is available to reduce throttling, even with WildBoost Optimisation 3.0 enabled. The POCO F6 Pro will be available for purchase on May 23rd, both directly from Xiaomi and through third-party retailers like Amazon. The handset will cost £449.90 at launch and €449.90 in the Eurozone. The full POCO F6 Pro price is as follows:
