AMD FSR 3.1 Boosts Performance, Image Quality: What You Need to Know

AMD FSR Gets Upgraded to Version 3.1: What's New?

AMD has announced a new version of its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology. The company detailed what makes it better than its predecessor, which games already support it, and showcased how the technology enhances in-game graphics.

According to AMD, FSR 3.1 offers increased stability, improved suppression of flickering and artifacts, and better preservation of object details. The generation of intermediate frames has also been enhanced, ensuring seamless integration with other scaling algorithms. Currently, only five games, all developed by Sony PlayStation Studio, support FSR 3.1:

  • Spider-Man Remastered
  • Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition
  • Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • God of War Ragnarök (not yet released on PC)

New features for developers include support for Vulkan and tools for working with the Xbox Game Development Kit. Updating to the latest FSR version will also be easier for developers who have already implemented the technology.

Despite the new release, some upcoming games will initially support FSR 3, including:

  • Creatures of Ava
  • Concord
  • Farming Simulator 25
  • Dungeon Stalkers
  • inZOI
  • Nobody Wants to Die
  • The First Descendant
  • Preserve
