AMD's Radeon Instinct MI300X Flexes its Muscles, Smokes RTX 4090 in OpenCL Benchmark
No surprises here! AMD's data-center monster, the Radeon Instinct MI300X, has just waltzed onto Geekbench's OpenCL benchmark and claimed the top spot, leaving even the mighty RTX 4090 in its dust. This is hardly a shock, considering the MI300X is a beast built for a whole different arena.

Remember when AMD launched this beast back in December? It was practically begging for a worthy opponent. Packing a whopping 19,456 shader units, 192GB of HBM3 memory, and a TDP that could power a small village (750 watts!), the MI300X scored a mind-blowing 379,660 on the OpenCL benchmark. To put that in perspective, the RTX 4090 managed a respectable but much lower ~320,000.
But let's be real, this isn't exactly a fair fight. It's like pitting a monster truck against a sports car – they're built for completely different purposes. The MI300X is designed for the heavy lifting in data centers, tackling AI and high-performance computing tasks that would make a gaming GPU cry. The RTX 4090, on the other hand, is optimized for real-time rendering and buttery-smooth gameplay – a champ in its own right, but not in the same league as the MI300X.
