John Garvin, a writer on the original Days Gone, recently discussed his ideas for a potential sequel.

Days Gone 2: Writer Has Script, Concept Art, and a Dream

Remember Days Gone, the zombie-bashing biker adventure that divided critics but found a loyal fanbase? While Sony might be known for its critically acclaimed hits, even they stumble occasionally. However, it seems the story of Deacon St. John might not be over just yet.

Days Gone

John Garvin, former Bend Studio employee and writer on Days Gone, recently reignited hopes for a sequel. In a recent interview, he expressed his enthusiasm to develop Days Gone 2, should Sony come knocking on his and fellow writer Jeff Ross's doors. He even revealed that he already has a script, map, concept art, and a clear vision for the project. Garvin also mentioned that after his departure, Ross worked on a completely different pitch, which unfortunately failed to impress Sony.

For those unfamiliar with Deacon's journey, Days Gone was released on PlayStation 4 back in May 2019. The post-apocalyptic action game launched in a less-than-ideal state, plagued by technical issues that only a lucky few managed to avoid. Thankfully, the developers dedicated months to polish their creation, eventually delivering smooth ports for PC and PlayStation 5.

Will Sony greenlight a sequel? Only time will tell. But with a passionate fanbase and a writer armed with a vision, there's still hope for Deacon St. John to ride again.
