Google Pixel 9 Caught Speeding (Or Not?): Leaked Geekbench Results Raise Eyebrows
The rumor mill is churning, and this time, it's spitting out whispers about Google's upcoming Pixel 9. The latest leak? Geekbench scores that have everyone scratching their heads. The results show the Tensor G4, the supposed brain of the Pixel 9, lagging behind its predecessor, the Pixel 8. Could this be a sign of trouble in paradise?

The Geekbench 6 scores show the Pixel 9 managing a single-core score of 1653 and a multi-core score of 3313. Now, those numbers aren't anything to scoff at, but they are surprisingly lower than what we've seen from the Pixel 8 and even further behind powerhouses like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Before you hit the panic button, there's a good chance this is just a blip on the radar. Early benchmark leaks are notorious for being unreliable, and this could easily be a pre-production unit with software that's still being fine-tuned.
Despite the head-scratching scores, the leak does give us some juicy details. It confirms rumors about the Tensor G4's core setup: a prime core clocked at a speedy 3.1 GHz, three cores humming along at 2.6 GHz, and four efficiency cores chilling at 1.95 GHz. It also backs up the rumors of 8 GB of RAM and the Mali-G715 GPU, the same one powering the Pixel 8's graphics.
