HMD Skyline Channels Nokia Lumia, Takes Aim at Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G

Nokia's Lumia Legacy Lives On? Leaked HMD Skyline Phone Rocks Snapdragon Power

Remember the sleek, colorful designs of Nokia Lumia phones? Get ready for a blast from the past! HMD Global, the current stewards of the Nokia brand, are prepping a new mid-range smartphone dubbed the HMD Skyline, and rumor has it, it channels some serious Lumia vibes. But nostalgia isn't all this phone's packing – it's also set to arrive with the same capable chipset found in Xiaomi's recent Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G.

The HMD Skyline has been making headlines lately, and now, thanks to a Geekbench listing, we've got confirmation on some juicy details. As predicted, it's powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, a solid mid-range contender announced late last year.

So, what does the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 bring to the table? Think eight snappy CPU cores, split between power-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 and performance-focused Cortex-A78 clusters. You also get an Adreno 710 GPU – the same one we put through its paces in our Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G review (spoiler alert: it performed admirably). While not a massive leap over the older Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, the 7s Gen 2 still packs enough punch for smooth everyday performance and even some decent gaming.

Geekbench spills the beans on RAM too: the HMD Skyline will come in 8GB and a beefier 12GB variant. Whispers around the rumor mill suggest a price tag of €459 and €499, respectively, both with a generous 256GB of storage.

Excited? You won't have to wait long! Rumor has it, the HMD Skyline is slated to make its official debut early next month.
