Remember HTC? The smartphone pioneers are back with a new mid-range contender – the U24 Pro. Launching first in Taiwan for around $580, this phone is packing some surprisingly solid specs for the price, including a super-smooth 120Hz OLED screen and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor with a generous 12GB of RAM.

While HTC might be better known for their Vive VR headsets these days, they haven't forgotten their smartphone roots. The U24 Pro is here to shake up the mid-range market, and it comes with a pretty sweet set of specs for the price.

Under the hood, you'll find a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor – no slouch in the performance department – paired with a whopping 12GB of RAM. That means smooth multitasking, lag-free gaming, and enough power to handle even demanding apps with ease. The Adreno 720 iGPU takes care of graphics, so expect a visually impressive experience. And with 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage (expandable via microSD), you'll have plenty of space for all your apps, games, and media.

But the U24 Pro isn't just about raw power. It also boasts a stunning 6.8-inch OLED display with a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. That means everything from scrolling through social media to watching videos will feel incredibly fluid and responsive. And with a sharp 1080x2436 resolution, you're in for a visual treat.

On the camera front, the U24 Pro is packing some serious hardware too. You get a triple camera setup on the back, with a 50MP primary sensor for capturing stunning photos, an 8MP ultrawide lens for those epic landscapes, and a 50MP telephoto lens for getting up close and personal with your subjects. And for the selfie lovers out there, there's a 50MP front-facing camera housed in a sleek hole-punch design.

But that's not all! The HTC U24 Pro also comes with a beefy 4,600 mAh battery to keep you going all day long. Plus, it supports both wired and wireless charging – up to 60W wired and 15W wireless – so you can juice up your phone in a flash. And if that's not enough, it even supports 5W reverse wireless charging, so you can use your phone to power up your other devices.

Rounding out the package, you get a fingerprint sensor for secure logins, a 3.5mm headphone jack (a rarity these days!), and the phone runs on Android 13 out of the box.

The HTC U24 Pro will be available in Taiwan starting June 30th, with no word yet on a global release. But if you're looking for a mid-range phone that punches above its weight, this could be a serious contender.
