Is a Beyond Good & Evil Remaster Coming Soon?

Ubisoft has delisted Beyond Good & Evil from Steam and Ubisoft Connect. Is this a sign that the 20th Anniversary Edition remaster is almost here?

Beyond Good and Evil Vanishes from Digital Stores: A Sign of a Remaster on the Horizon?

Large publishers have a knack for getting on gamers' nerves, whether it's with unnecessary DRM implementations, surprise multiplayer server shutdowns, or – as is the case today – quietly yanking older titles from digital storefronts.

Beyond Good and Evil

In a move that has fans both confused and intrigued, Ubisoft recently pulled the original Beyond Good and Evil from sale. The game is no longer available on Steam or Ubisoft Connect, leaving GOG as the sole digital vendor (unless you're comfortable venturing into the grey market, that is).

This sudden delisting has fueled speculation that a remaster might be imminent. You might recall that Ubisoft announced the Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition late last year, promising a graphically enhanced version of Michel Ancel's classic. At the time, they slated it for an "early 2024" release. However, with summer now in full swing and no further updates on the horizon, the silence is becoming deafening.

Could this removal from major platforms be a precursor to a remaster announcement? Only time will tell, but the timing is certainly suspicious...
