The images suggest that the Surface Duo 3 would have adopted a horizontal folding design, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series. A rectangular camera module housing three sensors would have been positioned at the top of the rear left half, with a unique foldable kickstand situated below it.

Additionally, the smartphone was envisioned to feature a power button with a secondary function: partially opening the device. Furthermore, instead of a single flexible display, the Surface Duo 3 was intended to incorporate two separate screens. This design choice, according to Microsoft, would have facilitated more efficient multitasking.
