Snapdragon 6s Gen 3: Is This Just a Rebranded Snapdragon 695?
Remember those rumors about the Motorola Moto G85 getting the unreleased Snapdragon 4 Gen 3? Well, hold on to your hats because the plot just thickened! Leaker @MysteryLupin is now suggesting that Motorola might actually equip the Moto G85 with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 instead. Intriguing, right?
But hold on a second – is this really a brand-new Snapdragon? Not quite. While Qualcomm has discreetly added the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 to their website, it feels a bit like déjà vu. The part number is suspiciously identical to the older Snapdragon 695 5G, the same chip that powers phones like the popular Moto G84 5G.
So, what's going on here? It looks like the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is essentially a Snapdragon 695 5G with a little extra kick. It has the same 6nm TSMC node, Adreno 619 GPU, and FastConnect 6200 modem. The key difference? Those two ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores are getting a speed boost, jumping from 2.2GHz on the Snapdragon 695 5G to 2.3GHz on the 6s Gen 3. And the six Cortex-A55 cores? They're also getting a bump, reaching up to 2GHz.
