Motorola to Integrate Google's AI into Smartphones
Motorola and Google have announced a partnership in the field of AI solutions. The smartphone manufacturer will gain access to Google's proprietary technologies, such as Gemini and Imagen neural networks. The companies have revealed how this will impact the upcoming Razr series smartphones.
Motorola plans to promote Google's technologies in its smartphones under the Moto AI brand. One of the first devices to feature this integration is the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra foldable phone. These neural networks are expected to assist users with various tasks such as:
- Generating images
- Summarizing text
- Composing emails
- Customizing system settings
- Performing other useful functions
"Moto AI enables consumers to intuitively create content, personalize their device, access the information they need, and achieve more in less time - all powered by Google's leading AI," explained Dan Dery, a senior executive at Motorola.
The first AI-powered apps for Motorola devices have already been named: Magic Canvas and Style Sync. Magic Canvas will utilize Google's Imagen neural network to generate images during messaging conversations. Meanwhile, Style Sync aims to personalize the smartphone experience by adapting to the user's style through the device's camera. For instance, users could match their wallpapers, icons, and themes to their clothing style.
Motorola representatives also revealed that the AI will learn and adapt based on user interaction. This could involve:
- Identifying and prioritizing important conversations
- Decrypting and summarizing personal messages
- Efficiently extracting key information from conversations with frequently contacted individuals
