Galaxy Tab S10+: Ditching Qualcomm? Leaked Specs Hint at a MediaTek-Powered Future!
Hold up! Is Samsung about to shake things up in the tablet world? A recent Geekbench listing has got everyone buzzing, suggesting that the upcoming Galaxy Tab S10+ might ditch its usual Qualcomm Snapdragon processor for a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, at least in the US. Could this be the start of a new trend?
Samsung usually likes to keep us waiting for about 18 months between new Galaxy Tab S models. With the Tab S9 series launching last August, we weren't expecting the Galaxy Tab S10 until early 2025 (probably alongside the shiny new Galaxy S25 series). But it seems the rumor mill has other plans!
This intriguing Geekbench listing hints that the Galaxy Tab S10+, the middle sibling in the Tab S10 lineup, could launch in the US rocking MediaTek's latest and greatest: the Dimensity 9300+. The listing mentions a mysterious "gts10p" motherboard, which eagle-eyed techies suspect is connected to the Dimensity 9300+. And if that's not convincing enough, the listed core configuration (one core humming along at 3.4 GHz, three at 2.85 GHz, and four more at 2.0 GHz) is a dead ringer for MediaTek's new chip.
So, does this mean we're waving goodbye to Qualcomm chips in Samsung's flagship tablets? It's too early to say for sure, but this leak has definitely thrown a wrench in the works! While Samsung uses MediaTek processors in some of its devices, it's a big deal for their premium tablets, which usually boast either Snapdragon or their homegrown Exynos chips. This could be a bold move for Samsung, especially since the leaked model number ("SM-X828U") seems to be a US carrier version.
