Benchmarks reveal the true power of AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X with unlimited TDP. See how it stacks up against Intel and previous Ryzen generations.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X Unleashed: Testing Reveals True Potential with Unlimited TDP

Previous reports hinted that AMD's new flagship desktop processor, the Ryzen 9 9950X, could be both powerful and energy-efficient. Now, benchmark results with an unrestricted TDP have surfaced, showcasing the chip's true capabilities.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X is built on the Zen 5 architecture and manufactured using a 4nm process. It boasts 16 cores (32 threads) with a base clock speed of 4.3 GHz and a boost clock speed of up to 5.7 GHz. It also features 80 MB of cache (64 MB L3 + 16 MB L2) and a standard TDP of 170 W. However, users can remove power consumption limits, raising the TDP to an impressive 309 W. A user going by the name igor_kavinski managed to achieve this performance level while maintaining a chip temperature of just 80 degrees Celsius using water cooling.
