BoostR eGPU: External Graphics Card and Storage in One
A new crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo is looking to bring the BoostR eGPU to life, an external graphics card designed for ultrabooks and mini PCs. It also doubles as a hub with a variety of ports.
Inside the BoostR eGPU's compact body lies a mobile AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT graphics processor. Built on the RDNA 3.0 architecture, it boasts 32 compute units and 8GB of GDDR6 memory. According to the creators, this powerhouse can handle AAA gaming and support up to four 1080p monitors, two 4K monitors, or a single 8K display simultaneously.
In addition to its graphical prowess, the BoostR eGPU can also house an M.2 SSD with up to 4TB of storage capacity, making it a two-in-one solution for both graphics and storage needs.
The BoostR eGPU is not short on ports either, featuring:
- Two DisplayPort
- Two HDMI
- USB 4.0 Type-C
- USB 3 Type-A
- Ethernet
- Oculink (for connecting to a computer)
However, the reliance on Oculink for connectivity does limit the device's compatibility with certain computers.
Early bird pricing for the BoostR eGPU starts at $489.
