Sony Bend's Community Manager Crushes Hopes for Days Gone 2

Despite recent rumors fueled by Days Gone director John Garvin's public desire to make a sequel, Sony Bend's Community Manager has dashed the hopes of fans.

Days Gone 2

Kevin McAllister took to social media to set the record straight, stating:

"I apologize to the Days Gone community for people giving false hope about the project and posting fake info for clout. It's unfair to all of you. We are currently working on a new IP and when we have actual news to share, it will come directly from our studio."

McAllister seemed to indirectly blame Garvin for the surge in false information, suggesting that his public comments had sparked the rumor mill. As a reminder, Garvin had publicly appealed to Sony about a sequel, even claiming to have a fully fleshed-out concept. However, it's important to note that Garvin is no longer with the company.

Days Gone 2

The original Days Gone received a lukewarm reception from critics upon release, primarily due to technical issues. However, the game has since garnered a passionate following after its PC port, leaving many fans hungry for more.

While a sequel seems unlikely for now, Sony Bend is actively working on a new IP, leaving us curious to see what they have in store.
