Disassembling the HMD Skyline proved to be quite straightforward. Removing the back cover only requires loosening a single screw on the bottom edge, which lifts up a corner of the panel. While a small amount of adhesive is used around the edges for water resistance, it doesn't hinder the repair process.

The display was equally easy to remove, requiring only a few screws to be undone and the display cable to be detached from the motherboard.

According to the iFixit engineers, the speakers, USB Type-C port, microSD and SIM card slots, and all four camera sensors can be easily replaced. The battery can also be removed without much hassle by simply pulling on a plastic tab.

As a result of their teardown, the experts awarded the HMD Skyline an impressive repairability score of 9 out of 10. Better yet, the manufacturer has confirmed that original spare parts will be available soon through the iFixit online store.
