The Honor Magic V3 Gets Even Thinner and Packs a Larger Battery
The Honor Magic V3 foldable smartphone has been officially unveiled in China, claiming the title of the world's slimmest device in its category from its predecessor. Not only that, but it's also more powerful, sports improved cameras, and boasts a larger battery capacity.
Thinner Than Ever
The Honor Magic V3 measures 156.7 x 145.4 x 4.6 mm when unfolded (compared to the Magic V2's 145.4 x 156.7 x 4.7 mm) and 156.7 x 74 x 9.2 mm when folded (down from 156.7 x 74 x 9.9 mm). It also sheds weight, dropping from 316 grams to a featherlight 226 grams. Honor claims that the smartphone uses the thinnest folding hinge among its competitors, measuring a mere 2.84 mm. In terms of durability, the company promises up to 500,000 folds without any issues.
Impressive Displays
The exterior features a 6.43-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2376x1060 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 5000 nits when displaying HDR content. Inside, you'll find a near-square 7.92-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2344x2156 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Dual SIM, Dual Phone?
An interesting new feature allows the Magic V3 to function as two independent smartphones. When folded, you have one device with its own SIM card. Unfold it, and you have a second device linked to a different number. The system allows for the simultaneous use of the same application under different accounts.
Power-Packed Performance
The smartphone is powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor clocked at 3.39 GHz. Depending on the configuration, RAM can be either 12 or 16 GB, and the storage capacity is 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB. Despite the thinner body, the battery capacity has increased from 5000 to 5150 mAh. It supports 66W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Camera Prowess
The main camera boasts a 50 MP sensor with an f/1.6 aperture. You also get a 50 MP telephoto camera with f/3.0 and 3.5x optical zoom and a 40 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2.
