The rivalry between Android smartphone manufacturers is alive and well, with companies often taking jabs at each other (and Apple, of course). Honor recently poked fun at Samsung following the unveiling of the Galaxy Z Fold6, specifically targeting the claims about its reduced thickness.

Following the Samsung presentation, an Honor representative took to X (formerly Twitter), posting,

“Foldable, but don't settle. The Honor Magic V2 is still light years ahead in the galaxy of foldables.”

While the Galaxy Z Fold6 is indeed thinner than its predecessor, measuring 5.6mm unfolded and 12.1mm folded compared to the Z Fold5's 6.1mm and 13.4mm, respectively, it's still thicker than the Honor Magic V2. The Chinese-made phone boasts a slim 4.7mm unfolded and 9.9mm folded profile.

Honor also highlighted the Magic V2's larger 5000 mAh battery compared to the Galaxy Z Fold6's 4400 mAh battery. However, the Z Fold6 fights back with an official IP68 rating, making it both waterproof and the first foldable smartphone with certified dust resistance, a feature absent in the Honor Magic V2.

The playful rivalry continues as Honor prepares to announce its latest foldable, the Magic V3, on July 12th. The company has strongly hinted that the new device will be even thinner than its predecessor, further challenging Samsung's dominance in the foldable market.
