Core Ultra 7 256V: A Strong Contender

The Core Ultra 7 256V, a mid-range offering, achieved scores of 2,608 and 10,506 in Geekbench 6.3's single and multi-core tests, respectively. Notably, its single-core performance is just 16% behind the previous generation flagship Core i9-14900HX, despite having a significantly lower TDP. It also matches the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in single-core performance.

The 4P + 4E core configuration boasts a base clock of 2.02 GHz and a boost clock of 3.3 GHz, with potential for further improvement as P cores can reach up to 4.8 GHz and E cores up to 3.7 GHz.

Lunar Lake Launch and Performance Expectations

Both CPUs share the same 8-core configuration and LPDDR5X 8,533 memory, which may explain the similar Geekbench scores despite slight differences in specifications.

Intel's Lunar Lake laptops are expected to hit the market in late September, giving Intel time to further refine these promising CPUs.
