Modded Nintendo Switch Hits Its Limits Running Demanding PC Games

YouTuber Naga continues to push the boundaries of a modded Nintendo Switch, this time testing its limits with even more demanding PC games. The modified console boasts 8GB of RAM, an overclocked CPU at 2.6GHz, and a GPU running at 1.26GHz, all running on L4T Ubuntu 18.04.

While previous tests showed promise with less demanding titles, this latest experiment revealed the handheld's limits. Games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Baldur's Gate 3, Fallout 4, and Assassin's Creed Unity struggled to reach a playable 30 FPS.

However, the modded Switch still managed impressive feats, running Devil May Cry 5 at over 50 FPS, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions at over 60 FPS, and Crysis 1 at a near-constant 30 FPS.

Ultimately, while this mod showcases the potential of pushing the Switch beyond its intended capabilities, it also highlights the limitations of its aging hardware. It remains to be seen if the console's successor will offer the horsepower needed to run demanding AAA games without requiring such modifications.
