NIO Phone 2 Released: Flagship Specs, Sony Cameras, and Car Remote Control
NIO, the electric car manufacturer, has launched its new smartphone, the aptly named Phone 2. Like its predecessor, the new model boasts the ability to control certain functions of NIO vehicles. In terms of technical specs, the device rivals current flagship smartphones from other brands.
The NIO Phone 2 features a 6.82-inch Samsung E7 OLED display (3168x1440 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 2600 nits brightness). Additionally, it boasts a 1440Hz PWM dimming frequency, reducing eye strain caused by screen flickering. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, coupled with 12/16GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage.

The camera setup is as follows:

A 5020mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support ensures ample battery life. The smartphone is offered in three variants: with a glass back (8.6mm thickness), ceramic back (8.45mm thickness), or artificial leather.
Other notable features include IP68 water and dust resistance, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 display protection, and Bluetooth 5.3, UWB, and NFC connectivity. The wireless modules are used for both their intended purposes and for synchronizing with NIO vehicles using a mobile app.
Seamless Car Integration
The smartphone can be used as a digital car key and allows drivers to save their car's location and parking spot. It also features NIO Link functionality for seamless interaction with the vehicle's infotainment system, enabling screen mirroring and app integration.
For quick access to vehicle-related functions, there's a dedicated button on the left side of the device. Users can also customize this button for other functions with a single press or long press.
