Nubia Z60S Pro launching alongside a nearly identical Z60 Ultra Leading Version
Nubia isn't done with its 2024 flagship smartphone lineup just yet. They've announced that the Z60S Pro will debut alongside a top-tier Z60 Ultra Leading Version on July 23, 2024. The catch? Both phones will feature different versions of the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
While this might seem like overkill, the strategy makes sense in the context of the latest Snapdragon chips. The Z60 Ultra Leading Version is expected to boast the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for maximum performance, similar to the recently launched RedMagic 9S Pro.
Meanwhile, the Z60S Pro is rumored to utilize the more power-efficient Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, offering a potentially more affordable flagship experience without sacrificing too much power.
Nubia has teased a "dollar coin" camera hump for the Z60S Pro, suggesting a different camera setup compared to the Leading Version. Rumors suggest a 50MP main camera with OIS and a signature 35mm lens, but potentially lacking features like the 85mm telephoto lens found on the existing Z60 Ultra.
This dual-flagship launch gives potential buyers interesting options: extreme performance with the Z60 Ultra Leading Version or a potentially more balanced and affordable experience with the Z60S Pro. We'll know for sure on July 23rd.
