Pixel 6 Series Plagued by Dropped Calls After Android 15 Beta 4 Update
Pixel 6, 6 Pro, and 6A users are experiencing frustrating call dropping issues after installing the latest Android 15 Beta 4 update. Since its release a week ago, numerous reports have surfaced detailing dropped calls and silent phone lines, turning conversations into a guessing game of "Can you hear me now?".
Users have reported calls going silent after just 20 seconds, with their screens remaining active and even navigating through menus. Others have experienced unstable LTE connections with networks disappearing and reappearing sporadically.
While the August 13th Pixel 9 launch event is approaching, Google's focus on the new series shouldn't come at the expense of Pixel 6 users. The complaints, ranging from dropped calls to overheating during conversations, continue to flood forums and social media platforms.
Interestingly, some users have discovered workarounds. Switching to speaker mode and back, or using headphones, seems to temporarily resolve the issue. However, a permanent solution is still needed.
Thankfully, the issue has gained significant attention, accumulating over 220 upvotes on the Issue Tracker and being marked as "Assigned." Google has acknowledged the problem and is actively investigating a fix.
Until then, Pixel 6 series users are encouraged to utilize the temporary workarounds and continue reporting the bug. Hopefully, a permanent solution will be available soon.
