Roblox Players Resort to Spanish as Chat Filter Goes Haywire
Roblox users faced a frustrating surprise today as a widespread chat bug turned most English text into hashtags. The issue, which emerged approximately an hour ago, impacts users across the platform's website, mobile app, and Xbox app, severely hindering communication.
The problem has gained significant traction online, with a recently created Reddit thread on the topic garnering over 67 upvotes and 70+ comments within minutes. Numerous reports are also surfacing on X (formerly Twitter), confirming the widespread nature of the bug.
Roblox has officially acknowledged the problem on their status page, categorizing it as a "Partial Service Disruption" affecting User, Player, and Creator components. They are "currently investigating the issue surrounding text being filtered" but haven't provided an estimated time for resolution.

In a bizarre turn of events, players have discovered a temporary workaround: typing in Spanish. Adding words like "el" or "hola" at the beginning of messages seems to bypass the filter, allowing for some level of communication.
While this solution is far from ideal, it highlights the resourceful nature of the Roblox community. However, it also creates confusion for non-Spanish speakers and those relying on translation tools.
For now, it seems Roblox players might need to rely on their high school Spanish or fire up Duolingo to communicate effectively. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
