The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 will stick with an OLED cover display, contrary to earlier leaks.

A recent leak of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 spec sheet suggested a surprising downgrade: an IPS panel for its cover display instead of the OLED found on its predecessor. This sparked concern among tech enthusiasts, as an IPS panel on a 2024 flagship would be a step backwards.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 will stick with an OLED cover display, contrary to earlier leaks.

However, sources speaking to SamMobile have refuted this claim, confirming that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will indeed retain the OLED cover display. This is welcome news for those looking forward to the new foldable.

Other expected upgrades for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 include:

  • A 50MP main camera
  • A larger battery
  • New Galaxy AI features

While earlier rumors suggested a price increase, it appears the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will maintain its price point in Europe. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case for the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Samsung is set to unveil its new lineup, including the Galaxy Z Flip 6, at its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, 2024. Other anticipated releases include the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Buds 3, and Galaxy Buds Pro.
