Samsung and MediaTek Team Up for Blazing-Fast LPDDR5X Memory
Samsung has announced the successful completion of testing for the fastest LPDDR5X RAM in conjunction with MediaTek's upcoming flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400. The two companies worked closely together, completing the tests in just three months.
Samsung's LPDDR5X memory delivers a remarkable bandwidth of up to 10.7 Gbps. Test results demonstrated a 25% improvement in power efficiency and a 30% increase in capacity compared to the previous generation. Additionally, the capacity of a single mobile DRAM package has been boosted to an impressive 32GB.
“Our collaboration with Samsung Electronics has enabled the new generation of MediaTek Dimensity powered devices to be the first to validate LPDDR5X operation at 10.7 Gbps for unparalleled AI and mobile experiences,” said a MediaTek spokesperson.
Samsung emphasized its commitment to strengthening its leadership in the low-power, high-performance DRAM market. The company also aims to expand the application of LPDDR5X beyond mobile devices, targeting servers, PCs, and automobiles.
