A Speed Test Showdown: Popular Flagship Smartphones Put to the Test
A new comparison of nine flagship smartphones, including models from Apple, Honor, HUAWEI, Meizu, Nubia, OPPO, Samsung, and vivo, has surfaced online, revealing a clear winner and a device that lagged significantly behind the competition.
The Need for Speed
The test involved launching the same 23 applications sequentially on each phone and measuring the time it took to complete the task. After that, all apps were relaunched to assess the devices' ability to hold processes in the background.
And the Fastest Phone Is...
The test results produced the following ranking:
- HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra
- Vivo X100 Ultra
- Honor Magic6 Ultimate Edition
- Xiaomi 14 Ultra
- Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max
- Meizu 21 Pro
- Nubia Z60 Ultra
- OPPO Find X7 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
The HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra blazed through the initial app launch in just 86 seconds and took a mere 43 seconds for the second run. In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra lagged behind with times of 118 and 107 seconds, respectively. Notably, the test showed that all phones, except the Samsung, took half the time on average for the second app launch, highlighting superior background process management. While one might attribute this difference to RAM (12GB in Galaxy S24 Ultra vs. 16GB in others), the iPhone's impressive performance with just 8GB suggests otherwise.
Many users anticipate that the release of One UI 7 will significantly improve the user experience on Samsung devices.
