Star Wars Outlaws Previews Are Glowing: Immersive World and Stealth Gameplay Impress!
Several gaming outlets have published previews for Star Wars Outlaws, sharing their experiences after spending several hours with the game. It seems that Massive Entertainment has succeeded in crafting a compelling open world set within the beloved franchise.
One of the highlights is how alive the world feels. IGN noted that during their playthrough, they were able to play slot machines and even gamble at a betting shop, as well as find NPCs to play Sabacc with. These micro-events unfold naturally and authentically, contributing to a strong sense of immersion further enhanced by the game's impressive visuals. In terms of aesthetics and capturing the Star Wars atmosphere, Outlaws shines. The speeder bike riding and starship piloting also received praise.
Stealth and Companions
The stealth gameplay appears to be well-executed. Protagonist Kay Vess can sneak up on enemies and silently take them down using various methods. Her companion, Nix, can create distractions, interact with objects, and even fetch weapons.
Minor Hiccups
On the downside, some reviewers pointed out occasional bugs and weak AI, with enemies sometimes failing to react realistically to Kay's actions.
Release Date
Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on August 30, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
