Xiaomi Unveils Mix Flip, its First Folding Smartphone
Alongside the new Mix Fold 4, Xiaomi has introduced its very first flip phone, the Mix Flip. One of the device's standout features is its large external display, which allows users to access most smartphone functions without having to unfold it.
Large External Display for Enhanced Functionality
The Mix Flip features a 4.01-inch external display protected by curved Dragon Crystal Glass on all four sides, with a dual camera system nestled beneath. Xiaomi maximized the available space by placing small widgets under the cameras and positioning essential information alongside them.
This expansive outer screen enables users to enjoy many smartphone features without the need to unfold the device. It even accommodates a full-size keyboard, allowing for convenient messaging, although the message display area is somewhat limited.
Impressive Internal Display and Robust Build
Unfolding the Mix Flip reveals a spacious 6.86-inch OLED screen boasting a 1.5K resolution, a peak brightness of 3000 nits, and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The external display shares these impressive brightness and refresh rate specifications. Both screens utilize TCL's C8+ panel technology. According to Xiaomi, the phone's robust design guarantees it can withstand an impressive 500,000 folds.
Powerful Performance and Fast Charging
Powering the Xiaomi Mix Flip is the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. To ensure optimal thermal management, the phone incorporates a vapor chamber with a three-dimensional structure for enhanced contact with the chipset. A 4780mAh battery keeps the device running, supported by 67W fast charging capabilities.
High-Resolution Cameras for Stunning Photography
The Mix Flip boasts a 50-megapixel Lihth Hunter 800 primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization. Complementing this is a 50-megapixel telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, there's a 32MP front-facing camera (OV32B), though the dual external cameras can also be utilized for this purpose.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip will be available in 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB storage options, priced at $825, $895, and $1005 respectively.
