Xiaomi Mix Fold 4: Slimmer, Stronger, More Powerful
Xiaomi has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Mix Fold 4, at a major presentation in China. Boasting a thinner and lighter design than its predecessors, the Mix Fold 4 also features several other structural and technological upgrades.
Here's a breakdown of the key improvements:
- New and Improved Hinge: The Mix Fold 4 utilizes the all-new Dragon Bone Hinge 2.0, which is 34% smaller than its predecessor. This allows for a reduction in weight from 255 to 226 grams and a thinner profile, measuring just 9.47mm folded and an impressive 4.59mm unfolded.
- Durability Boost: A significant upgrade is the inclusion of IPX8 water resistance, making the Mix Fold 4 capable of withstanding full submersion.
- Stunning Displays: The phone boasts a 6.5-inch outer display and a 7.98-inch inner display. Thanks to the new hinge, the crease in the folding area is less noticeable. Both displays are OLED panels, offering a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to 3000 nits peak brightness, and 2160Hz PWM dimming.
- Top-Tier Performance: Powering the Mix Fold 4 is Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It comes with up to 16GB of RAM and a generous 1TB of internal storage.
- Long-lasting Battery: A robust 5100mAh battery fuels the device, supported by 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
- Camera Prowess: The camera system features a 50MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultrawide (f/2.2), and a 10MP telephoto lens (f/2.9) with 5x optical zoom. Continuing their partnership with Leica, Xiaomi integrates Leica's optics and image processing algorithms.
