Xiaomi Unveils the SU7 Ultra: A Blazingly Fast Electric Beast
Xiaomi surprised everyone at its recent presentation with a "One More Thing" moment, revealing the new SU7 Ultra - a souped-up version of its electric car. The company boldly claims that this is the fastest four-door electric car, and indeed, the fastest car overall, in the world.
The SU7 Ultra boasts a bespoke aerodynamic body kit and utilizes carbon fiber components to shed weight. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, clearly proud of the result, revealed his personal involvement in the design process.
Powering this beast is a combination of three electric motors: two V8s, each generating 578 horsepower and 635 Nm of torque with a shaft speed of 27,200 rpm, and a single 299-horsepower V6. The combined output reaches a staggering 1548 horsepower.
The performance figures are just as impressive. The SU7 Ultra rockets from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a mere 1.97 seconds, reaching 124 mph (200 km/h) in 5.96 seconds and 186 mph (300 km/h) in just 15.07 seconds. Its top speed exceeds 217 mph (350 km/h). Braking is equally phenomenal, coming to a complete stop from 62 mph in just 82 feet (25 meters) thanks to specialized brakes and discs designed to withstand temperatures up to 800 degrees Celsius.
While Xiaomi hasn't announced a release date or pricing for the SU7 Ultra, its unveiling is sure to send shockwaves through the automotive world.
