Android 15 Leak Reveals "Tablet Mode" Taskbar for Smartphones
Leaked before launch: Android 15's "tablet mode" feature coming to smartphones! A curious new feature, expected to be included in the final release, has been uncovered within the Android 15 beta. Get ready for a streamlined taskbar reminiscent of PCs and tablets, coming soon to regular Android smartphones. Similar to its implementation on foldable devices and tablets, the taskbar will emerge from the bottom of the smartphone screen with a simple upward swipe. The catch? This version will be a bit more compact, displaying only four app icons and a button to access the app drawer. On tablets, this feature allows for effortless multitasking, letting users seamlessly switch between apps and drag them around in split-screen mode. While currently under development and spotted in the Android 15 beta, there's no official word yet on when the taskbar will be available for public testing and eventual rollout to all users.
