Cixin P1: A New Chinese Laptop Processor with a Powerful AI Focus
Cixin Technology, a Chinese company, has unveiled its Cixin P1 processor, marketing it as the brand's first consumer CPU focused on AI computing. The processor boasts a built-in neural processing unit (NPU) capable of achieving up to 45 TOPS of performance – a figure comparable to AMD's Ryzen AI 300 and Intel's Lunar Lake chips.
Built on a 6nm process and based on the ARM architecture (similar to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite), the Cixin P1 packs 12 cores: 8 high-performance cores and 4 energy-efficient cores, with a maximum clock speed of 3.2GHz. The company claims full compatibility with the Copilot+ platform. The new chip supports up to 64GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 4K displays with a 120Hz refresh rate, and PCIe 4.0.
Based purely on the published specifications, the Cixin P1 appears competitive with offerings from other brands. However, any definitive judgment on the processor's actual performance will have to wait until benchmark results are released. The release date and pricing for the Cixin P1 remain unknown.
