HUAWEI Unveils MatePad Pro 12.2 with Cutting-Edge Dual OLED Screen
Alongside the nova Flip foldable smartphone, HUAWEI has introduced a new tablet: the MatePad Pro 12.2. This device boasts one of the most advanced screens available, with a clear focus on creative tasks.
A Feast for the Eyes
The MatePad Pro 12.2 showcases a 12.2-inch OLED display, utilizing the same dual-panel technology found in the latest iPad Pros. This results in a remarkable peak brightness of 2000 nits. The screen boasts a resolution of 2800x1840 pixels, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and a 2880Hz PWM dimming frequency for reduced eye strain. Notably, this is HUAWEI's first model with a 3:2 aspect ratio, optimized for reading, browsing, and working with documents.
To enhance the visual experience further, an optional nano-coating eliminates screen glare, which HUAWEI claims is even more effective than that of the new iPad Pros.
Power and Performance
Under the hood, the MatePad Pro 12.2 is powered by a 12-core Kirin 9010 processor, clocked at a maximum of 2.3 GHz (without cellular network support). A robust 10,000 mAh battery ensures long-lasting performance, bolstered by fast charging capabilities and HUAWEI's proprietary energy-saving technology that enables the tablet to remain in standby mode for up to 380 days.
Immersive Audio
HUAWEI promises exceptional audio quality through an eight-speaker system, encompassing both low and high-frequency drivers, along with the industry's largest resonator.
Pricing and Availability
The new HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 is priced at $600 for the 12GB + 256GB version and $670 for the 12GB + 512GB variant. Similar configurations with the anti-glare coating will retail for $685 and $755, respectively, while a 16GB + 1TB option
