Huawei Refreshes Budget Office Monitor with 100Hz MateView SE
Huawei continues its product push with a new version of its affordable MateView SE office monitor, offering a notable refresh rate upgrade over its two-year-old predecessor.
While retaining the original design and many specs, the 2024 MateView SE boasts a smoother visual experience with a 100Hz peak refresh rate, a significant jump from the previous 75Hz. However, this improvement comes at the cost of the VGA port, leaving users with DisplayPort and HDMI options.
The 23.8-inch IPS display remains at a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080, featuring a 250-nit panel with a claimed 90% DCI-P3 color space coverage and a 92% screen-to-body ratio. The inclusion of an e-book mode offers monochrome coloring to reduce eye strain during long reading sessions.
Currently exclusive to China, the MateView SE (2024) is priced at CNY 569 (~$91). Huawei has not yet confirmed global availability. While we wait to see if it makes its way to other markets, options like the Acer KC242Y HBI offer similar features and even retain the VGA port.
