Kingston Quietly Releases Fast NV3 Series SSDs for Home Users
Kingston has discreetly added product pages to its website for the NV3 series consumer SSDs featuring an M.2 interface, forgoing any major announcements or presentations. These drives will replace the NV2 lineup and, according to official information, will surpass their predecessors in terms of speed.
The vendor claims that the upcoming models will offer sequential read speeds of up to 6000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 5000 MB/s (depending on capacity). While Kingston hasn't disclosed the controller used in the new SSDs, they have revealed their endurance ratings, which remain unchanged compared to the previous series:
- 500 GB — 160 TBW
- 1 TB — 320 TBW
- 2 TB — 640 TBW
- 4 TB — 1280 TBW
The company will initially release 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB models, followed by a 4 TB version in the fourth quarter of this year. Pricing for the new drives is yet to be announced. While an official sales launch date hasn't been shared, some online retailers are already promising availability within the coming week.
