Motorola Finally Delivers Android 13 to Edge 20 Fusion, But is it Too Little, Too Late?
In a move that could be described as "better late than never" (or perhaps "too little, too late"), Motorola has finally released the Android 13 update for the Moto Edge 20 Fusion. However, this good news comes with a heavy dose of irony: the update arrives just as Android 15 is about to debut on Pixel devices.
The Edge 20 Fusion, launched in August 2021 with Android 11, was promised two major OS updates. After a year-long wait for Android 12, owners endured another lengthy period of silence, with the device languishing on the September 2023 security patch as of June 2024. Just as hope seemed lost, Motorola surprised everyone with the long-awaited update.
This delayed rollout raises questions about Motorola's commitment to timely software support, especially considering that the Moto G52 received Android 13 back in December 2023. Owners of newer Motorola devices, like the Moto Edge 30 Fusion (still awaiting Android 14), are left wondering if they will face similar delays.
While the arrival of Android 13 is welcome news for Edge 20 Fusion owners, it serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of Motorola's update schedule. The company's loyal users deserve better, as timely updates are crucial for both security and a positive user experience.
