Could Assassin's Creed be coming to Nintendo Switch 2?
Rumors are swirling that the Nintendo Switch 2 might launch with ports of several Assassin's Creed games, including the latest installment, Assassin's Creed Shadows.
The rumor started with gaming insider Paul Gale, who claimed the Switch 2 would launch with major third-party AAA ports. Reputable leaker Nash Weedle then added fuel to the fire, stating that Ubisoft plans to have Assassin's Creed Shadows ready for the Switch 2's launch window.
Weedle also suggests that ports of Assassin's Creed Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, and Mirage could be in the works, along with a port of Skull and Bones. Ubisoft is reportedly heavily invested in the new console, likely due to the success of the original Switch.
While Nintendo-focused leaker Necro Felipe backed up the claim of an Assassin's Creed Shadows port, details about performance on the new console remain scarce. The Switch 2 is rumored to have processing power comparable to the Steam Deck, which could be sufficient for running most AAA titles.
