Samsung Crowned Most Popular Smartphone Brand of Early 2024
Research firm Canalys has released its latest report on the global smartphone market for the first half of 2024, revealing the leading brands capturing users' hearts (and wallets).
According to their findings, Samsung clinched the top spot by the end of June, securing an impressive 18% market share in the second quarter. Experts attribute this success to the brand's diverse device portfolio, significant investment in research and development, extensive distribution network, and strong after-sales service.
Apple trailed closely behind in second place with a 16% market share, followed by Xiaomi at 15% and vivo at 9%. Canalys reports that global shipments reached 288 million units in the second quarter, marking a 12% increase compared to the first three months of the year.
Interestingly, industry publications have noted a surge in consumer interest towards foldable smartphones and AI-powered features in recent months. Could this be a sign of things to come in the ever-evolving world of mobile technology?
