Halo Infinite Finally Turns Profitable Nearly Three Years After Release
The budgets for AAA video games have ballooned to such an extent that some companies initially operate at a loss. Such was the case for Halo Infinite, one of the most anticipated releases of late 2021, which only recently began turning a profit.
Jéz Corden from Windows Central reported that the shooter broke even some time ago (the exact timeframe wasn't specified). Microsoft, 343 Industries, and Xbox Game Studios generate revenue from the game through sales and microtransactions.
Released in December 2021, Halo Infinite received mixed reviews. While some praised it as a return to form, others considered it one of the weakest entries in the series. Nevertheless, the developers consistently supported the game's multiplayer component with fresh content for several years. Season 5 marked the end of this content cycle.
