Honor Play 9C: Budget-Friendly with Dimensity 6100+ and Smart Capsule Feature
Honor has expanded its budget-friendly smartphone lineup with the launch of the Play 9C. Despite its affordable price, the device offers a high-capacity battery, ample storage, and a unique Smart Capsule feature that functions as a dynamic island.
The Honor Play 9C features a 6.65-inch IPS display with a 720x1612 pixel resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 780 nits. The new Smart Capsule feature displays information about calls, messages, music playback controls, and other options at the top of the screen.
Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset, paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM (with an additional 8GB of virtual RAM) and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. A 5200mAh battery provides long-lasting power, supported by 10W charging.
The camera system includes a 13MP primary sensor capable of recording 1080p videos. It offers various shooting modes, including time-lapse, night mode, portrait mode, panorama, and HDR. A 5MP front-facing camera handles selfies.
Furthermore, the Honor Play 9C boasts 5G connectivity and has received Swiss SGS certification for its drop resistance.
The Honor Play 9C is available in blue and black color options. The 6GB/128GB variant is priced at $113, while the 8GB/256GB model costs $142.
