HUAWEI Mate 70 Design Revealed by Renowned Leaker
Renowned Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has shared details about the design of an unannounced flagship smartphone. While specific model names weren't mentioned, it's widely believed that the leak refers to the upcoming HUAWEI Mate 70 series.
The insider claims to have seen engineering samples of the devices. They describe two large smartphones with a screen that curves on all four sides, similar to what we've already seen in the HUAWEI P60 series. Interestingly, the fingerprint scanner is integrated into the power button located on the metal side frame, a curious choice given the widespread adoption of under-display sensors.
On the back, there will be an elliptical camera module housing a periscope lens. The source notes that the back cover does not contain any metal, a departure from the glass and metal combination used in the Mate 60 series. The leak also reveals that the smartphone is equipped with a new processor boasting significantly improved energy efficiency compared to the previous generation.
Earlier, HUAWEI representatives hinted that the new Mate series smartphones would launch in the fourth quarter of 2024 alongside a new operating system, HarmonyOS NEXT.
