iPhone 16 Pro Users Report Early Touchscreen Issues
The latest iPhone 16 flagship models just hit the shelves, but some early adopters are already experiencing issues with the iPhone 16 Pro's touchscreen responsiveness.
Numerous users report that the touchscreen is ignoring swipes, virtual keyboard presses, button taps, and scrolling gestures, significantly hindering basic phone use.
Journalists suspect a software glitch is to blame, speculating that iOS's palm rejection algorithm may be overly sensitive, causing it to dismiss intentional touches. Several iPhone 16 Pro owners specifically point to issues when their finger is near the new camera control element on the right side of the screen.
The problem might be exacerbated by the even slimmer bezels around the display, increasing the likelihood of accidental touches. Additionally, using the phone without a case appears to make the issue more prevalent.
The glitch has been observed on iPhones running both iOS 18 and the iOS 18.1 beta, suggesting Apple may address it in an upcoming software update.
