iFixit Reveals Innovative Battery Adhesive in iPhone 16 While the iPhone 16 Pro models boast a new steel chassis for improved heat dissipation, the base iPhone 16 models haven't been left out of the innovation game. Although their batteries remain largely unchanged, Apple has implemented a completely new method for securing them. During their teardown of the iPhone 16, the experts at iFixit encountered the first-ever use of electrically activated adhesive in a smartphone. This adhesive firmly holds the battery in place, making it nearly impossible to remove the battery using traditional methods without causing damage. To extract the battery from the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, electricity must be applied to two terminals, and then you wait a few seconds. Afterward, the battery simply falls out, even under the force of gravity. iFixit applied 20V and waited only five seconds before the battery could be removed.
