Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
Samsung's flagship smartphones typically feature custom versions of Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors, often denoted by the "For Galaxy" branding. Recently, the alleged Galaxy S25 Ultra, equipped with such a customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, revealing some key specifications.
The listed Galaxy S25 Ultra achieved a single-core score of 3069 and a multi-core score of 9080. While these scores are impressive, they fall short of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4's peak performance, as seen in the unreleased OnePlus 13, which reportedly achieved scores of 3236 and 10,049 in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. This discrepancy could be attributed to the Galaxy S25 Ultra being an engineering sample undergoing testing.
The Geekbench listing further reveals that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in the S25 Ultra utilizes a "2+6" core configuration. The prime core cluster operates at up to 4.19GHz, while the efficiency cores run at 2.90GHz. In comparison, the OnePlus 13 is rumored to have the same core configuration but clocked at 4.32GHz and 3.53GHz, respectively.
The tested S25 Ultra ran Android 15 and came equipped with 12GB of RAM (10.54GB usable). Samsung's flagship smartphone is expected to launch in January 2025.
