Samsung to Restrict App Updates for Users Without Samsung Accounts Starting September 25th, 2024, Samsung smartphone and tablet users will face a new restriction. While previously users could enjoy their Galaxy devices without creating a Samsung account, the company seems to be changing its tune. A Samsung account will soon be mandatory for updating certain pre-installed applications. Specifically, the change affects the Galaxy Store. Previously, users could browse and download apps without logging in. However, version 6.6.13.10 of the Galaxy Store introduces a notification warning users of the upcoming change. Beginning September 25th, users will need to sign in with a Samsung account to access the Galaxy Store's full functionality. Without an account, users will be unable to update existing apps or download new ones.
